Library Media Center

Welcome to the

Library Media Center!  Smile

Our One Book, One School event was an exciting addition to our school environment -- thanks to all of our families for participating!  Our students were very excited to see Humphrey (a stuffed version) visiting various places around school.  For the calendar for The World According to Humphrey and pictures of his wanderings, see the link on the left hand navigation bar.

What we're working on now:
I hope your child brought home all theier work from the second marking period along with a summary of their grades.  This was designed not only as computer practice (opening a document, editing it and saving it), but also to show them that grades are not given - they are earned!  If they did not hand in a homework assignment, for instance, they could see that it impacted their grade.

Mrs. Williams and I are collaborating on library/computer units:
3rd grade will be reading "Dear Whiskers" by Ann Whitehead Nagda in the library and then writing letters in the computer lab
4th and 5th grade will be reading "The Genius Files" by Dan Gutman and then using Google Earth in the lab.

All students took a vocabulary quiz in the computer lab in the second marking period.  We will continue to utilize these words; if you'd like to see their vocabulary lists, click below:

3rd grade vocabulary
4th grade vocabulary
5th grade vocabulary

All grades continue to check out books every week in the library; please remind your child to transport their books in a library bag (ANY bag will do) and not in their backpacks.
